A Life-Altering Experience

Becoming a birth parent was a life-altering experience that reshaped the way I viewed love, sacrifice, and responsibility. I was young and filled with dreams when I found myself unexpectedly expecting. After deep reflection, I made the decision to place my child for adoption: a choice grounded in unconditional love. It was not easy, but I knew I wanted to give my child the best chance at a life I could not yet provide. That experience taught me resilience, compassion, and the power of hope, all of which fuel my determination to create a better future through education.

Pursuing higher education is more than just earning a degree; it’s about breaking cycles, rewriting my story, and building a life that honors the strength it took to make difficult decisions. To me, education represents opportunity, growth, and healing. Every course I complete brings me closer to becoming the person I have always wanted to be, someone my child could be proud of, and someone who can offer others the same support and care I once needed. Education is not just my dream; it is the foundation on which I am rebuilding my life.

Receiving this scholarship would not only ease the financial burden of school, but it would also validate the hard-fought path I have taken to get here. It would mean less time worrying about tuition and more time focused on achieving academic excellence and giving back to my community. It would also serve as a powerful reminder that my story matters, that perseverance is rewarded, and that I am not walking this journey alone.

My future goals include completing my nurse anesthesia degree and becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). I chose this path because I want to be able to provide calm, competent, and life-saving care during some of the most critical moments patients face.
