Adoptive Families

Adoption begins with people who are willing to open their hearts to a child and to a story bigger than their own. For many families, the path to adoption grows out of years of hope, prayer, and careful thought about how they want to build their family.

The Lifetime Adoption Foundation exists to encourage adoption and to help create opportunities for children to grow up in loving families. One way we do that is by supporting adoptive families and the communities around them.

Adoption can be deeply meaningful, but it also requires preparation, commitment, and support. Families often spend months, even years, learning about adoption, building a support network, and preparing their homes and hearts for the child (or children) they hope to welcome.
Our goal as a foundation in regards to adoptive families is simple: to encourage adoption, support families who feel called to it, and help remove barriers whenever possible.

The Importance of Community

Adoption has always been strengthened by community.

Friends, extended family, churches, and local organizations often play an important role in supporting adoptive families. Encouragement during the waiting season, celebrating the arrival of a child, and continuing to walk alongside families as children grow all make a difference.

When communities understand adoption and speak about it with compassion and respect, families feel supported and children grow up knowing their story is valued.

Through education and outreach, the Lifetime Adoption Foundation works to encourage that kind of awareness and support.

Supporting Adoption Through Community Initiatives

The Lifetime Adoption Foundation also raises funds through initiatives that celebrate adoption and help build awareness.

One example is our adoption prayer bracelets, created as a simple but meaningful reminder to pray for adoption – whether it is children waiting for families, for birth parents facing difficult decisions, or adoptive families traveling the adoption journey. Many supporters wear these bracelets as a daily reminder to pray for adoption and the lives it touches.

Proceeds from initiatives like these help support the Foundation’s mission and, when possible, contribute toward future adoption grants for families.

Adoption Grant FAQ

Does the Lifetime Adoption Foundation offer adoption grants?

At this time, the Lifetime Adoption Foundation is not currently accepting adoption grant applications. Because grant funding depends on donations, opportunities may vary from year to year. Families are encouraged to check back periodically for updates.

What types of adoptions do your grants typically support?

When grant funding is available, the Foundation has often focused on adoptions involving children who may be harder to place, including children with medical needs or complex circumstances. These adoptions can bring additional financial challenges for families, and grants can sometimes help make them possible.

Why are grants not available right now?

Adoption grants are funded entirely through charitable donations made to the Foundation. When funding levels change, the Foundation may pause grant opportunities until additional resources become available.

Will grants be offered again in the future?

We hope so. Expanding adoption grants is something we care deeply about, and we continue to explore ways to grow the funding needed to support more families.

How can I help support adoption grants?

One of the most meaningful ways to support adoption is by helping fund adoption grants. Donations to the Lifetime Adoption Foundation help build the resources needed to assist families pursuing adoption.

What Your Support Makes Possible

Adoption can involve significant costs, and for many families the financial aspect can be one of the most challenging parts of the journey. Through donations and community support, the Lifetime Adoption Foundation works to encourage adoption and, when funding allows, provide financial assistance to families pursuing adoption.

When grants are available, they often help families who are welcoming children with medical needs or circumstances that may make placement more difficult. In situations like these, even modest financial support can help remove barriers and make an adoption possible.

Helping More Families Say Yes to Adoption

Many families are willing to open their homes to a child in need of a permanent family, but financial realities can make the decision more difficult. Adoption grants can provide encouragement at just the right moment.

The Lifetime Adoption Foundation hopes to expand its ability to offer adoption grants in the future. The more support the Foundation receives, the more families it can assist.

Supporters often tell us they want to be part of something tangible: helping a child find a family and helping a family welcome a child.

That is the heart of this work.
