Adoption Grants to Help Families Adopt

Most people know adoption can be expensive. Lifetime recognizes that the cost of adoption is an obstacle for many loving couples who feel the Lord’s call to provide for a child in need.

At Lifetime, we don’t want finances to keep these loving Christian couples from being able to adopt. We believe that loving couples who are called to domestic adoption should be able to open their hearts to a child. Fortunately, loans and grants are available to help families offset fees to make their adoption more affordable.

Currently, adoption grants fund only a portion of the total cost of adoption. Families must be able to financially support a child in their home as well as have resources for the remaining financial requirements of adoption.

The Ride for Life: Making Life Affordable

As a retired pastor and business owner, Randy and his wife, Linda, have witnessed the overwhelming hurdles and costs it takes to finalize an adoption. Because they wanted to help adoptive families somehow, they founded the organization The Ride for Life: Making Life Affordable in 2021. The mission of Ride for Life is to raise awareness and funds to assist those who are planning to expand their families through adoption.

Randy and Lisa are about to embark on a new adventure in the coming weeks. They will bike across America, traveling over 3,000+ miles through 13 states, carry only essentials in backpacks, camp out along the way, and vlog the entire bicycle journey to raise funds for families seeking to adopt. “By the way, we are both 69 years old, and this isn’t our first endeavor of this kind!” says Randy.

All donations made to Ride for Life are tax-deductible and go directly to our non-profit adoption charity, Lifetime Adoption Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity. We will, in turn, use the funds raised to provide grants to help make adoption more affordable for families.

The first Ride for Life event was held in 2021, a combination solo bicycle ride and driving marathon by Randy. He started biking from the front steps of the Supreme Court Building in Washington D.C. and traveled to his place of birth, Longmont, Colorado. He covered over 1,300+ miles on the bicycle alone through five states!

Randy completed this adventure in two months and raised several thousand dollars for three couples who were in the process of adoption. Since this first journey was such a success, Randy and Linda have decided to make it an annual event! They plan to do at least one and maybe two rides a year.

“The Ride for Life was birthed out of a need to help couples wanting to adopt with some of the financial burdens of the process. Many people don’t know that a single adoption can cost anywhere from $30,000 to $50,000. So we do these rides along with other events to help bring awareness to and to be able to help with the high cost,” Randy and Lisa share on the Ride for Life YouTube channel.

Information about Ride For Life Adoption Grants

Ride For Life adoption assistance is possible because of the Ride For Life efforts of retired pastor Randy Johnson and his wife Linda. Grants are being awarded to Christian adoptive parents to help offset the cost of adoption. Grant amounts will vary based on availability up to a maximum $1,000 per qualified family.

There is no application deadline and qualified families are invited to apply at anytime, provided they have a current approved home study for either a domestic or international adoption. Families must be U.S. citizens and demonstrate financial need, perseverance in their adoption pursuit, and be matched with an adoption pending.
